Benched Walker in talks with Pochettino – report
Kyle Walker has reportedly had talks with Mauricio Pochettino after learning about interest in his services from both Manchester United and Manchester City.
The Evening Standard report that Walker – who started the FA Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea on the bench – ‘sought a meeting with manager Pochettino to understand the club’s plans for the years ahead’.
City are said to be very keen on Walker, with Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna both expected to leave the club this summer; Pep Guardiola’s lack of faith in that pair has been highlighted with the choice of an out-of-position Jesus Navas at right-back.
Walker has only recently signed a new £70,000-a-week contract but the Standard say he ‘is keenly aware of his value and knows that a move would bring a substantial pay rise’.

He is not the only Tottenham player who knows they could earn more elsewhere, with Danny Rose aware of interest from City and Toby Alderweireld seeking pay parity with £100,000-a-week men Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane.
