West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has revealed that striker Saido Berahino could return to the side for Saturday’s clash against Southampton.
The England international threatened to never play for the club again on deadline day after the Baggies blocked a possible move to Tottenham.
The 22-year-old missed three Premier League outings due to the ongoing speculation surrounding his future and was granted time off following the close of the transfer window.
Berahino, though, returned to training with the rest of the squad on Monday, and Pulis could bring him back into the side when league action resumes this weekend.
“Saido came in and was treated like everyone else, he trained well and I had no problems with his attitude,” Pulis told Telegraph Sport.
“He got his head down and we’ll assess him over the next few days. We’re keen to draw a line under it all and concentrate on playing football matches again.”
