Germany national team general manager Oliver Bierhoff has spilled the beans that Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka will move to the Premier League.
The Germany international has been linked with a move to Liverpool and Arsenal, with the former reportedly seeing him as an ideal replacement for Emre Can if he was to leave Anfield for nothing in the summer.
Tottenham are also understood to be confident of landing the Bochum-born midfielder, who has scored six goals in 12 caps for his country.
Goretzka lifted both the Silver Boot and Bronze Ball at last summer’s Confederations Cup in which Germany triumphed.
And it now seems his future is made up with Bierhoff claiming that he will join international team-mate Leroy Sane in the Premier League.
Bierhoff let slip in an interview with the Guardian about the Premier League, he said: “We feel that England, because of the amount of money you have with TV rights, young talented players like Leroy Sané and [Schalke’s] Leon Goretzka are moving to England and this is not good for our league but also for the quality of our game.
“We have to pay attention and invest again and again in the education of our coaches.”
