Big spenders Arsenal agree Mustafi and Perez fees

Arsenal have finally acted decisively in the transfer market with fees reportedly agreed for Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez and Valencia centre-half Skodran Mustafi.

Perez – who scored 17 La Liga goals last season – was seemingly on the verge of joining Everton when the Gunners moved for the Spanish striker who can play either up front or out wide.

Valencia had been reluctant to part with Mustafi but it seems the German has been allowed to leave for a hefty fee second only to the £42m paid to Real Madrid for Mesut Ozil.

Granit Xhaka arrived earlier this summer for around £30m while Rob Holding was signed from Bolton for £2m. Quite how that takes them close to the claimed £100m remains to be seen.
