Daley Blind says he now feels “most comfortable” playing as a centre-half for Manchester United, but is happy to play in any other position.
Blind has starred as a centre-half alongside Chris Smalling in the Manchester United defence this season, and although many have questioned the Dutchman’s suitability for the position, Blind has been one of the club’s more consistent performers this season.
Previously recognised as either a central midfielder or a left-back, Blind admits that while he now prefers a position at the heart of the defence, he is happy to fill in wherever he is needed.
“Of course now I feel most comfortable in the centre back position,” Blind told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. “There I play every week at Manchester United and I feel good.
“I have not so much difficulty to play again at left back, central defender or midfielder. I know I can be an important link for this team. That’s what I show in lots of matches.”
