Bolton boss Owen Coyle will pick from the same squad of players that was available for last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Newcastle.
Jlloyd Samuel is closing in on a return following a six-month lay-off with a ruptured thigh, but the defender requires at least another reserve game before he can be added to the squad.
Aston Villa will make a late check on the fitness of central defender James Collins.
Collins has been sidelined with a calf injury but Villa need him to be available as Richard Dunne (shoulder) and Carlos Cuellar (hamstring) are both ruled out.
Left-back Nathan Baker should be in contention after missing Wednesday’s FA Cup defeat at Manchester City through a bout of concussion. Record signing Darren Bent will be available after being cup-tied for the Eastlands match.
