Booth strike earns Terriers victory

The veteran striker, whose contract expires at the end of the season, rose highest to nod home substitute Michael Flynn’s inviting cross in the 78th minute.
Huddersfield’s Michael Collins came closest to breaking the deadlock in a lacklustre first period when he headed wide on 35 minutes after neat interplay between Danny Cadamarteri and Martin Kelly.
However, four minutes after the restart, Booth freed Gary Roberts and his pinpoint cross found Nathan Clarke, whose header from close range struck the crossbar before being cleared.
But on 50 minutes, Carlisle’s Jeff Smith latched on to Michael Bridges’ neat through ball before slicing his drive off target when well placed.
Huddersfield were denied by the woodwork for a second time when Roberts’ rasping right-foot curler rebounded off the post to safety but Booth settled matters with 12 minutes remaining.
