Bordeaux chief says Arsenal talk is ‘hot air’
Bordeaux president Stephane Martin claims Arsenal have not approached them about Brazilian winger Malcom and warned they will “have a problem” if they try.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with a £45m move for Malcom, but it now seems that they are almost exclusively pursuing Henrikh Mkitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Malcom’s manager admitted he was unsettled on Tuesday but now the French club’s president claims there is no truth in the rumours.
“We didn’t extend his contract and give him security this summer to let him go this winter,” Bordeaux president Stephane Martin told L’Equipe.
“We have never had talks with Arsenal. From our point of view, it’s all hot air. They can always try, but they’ll have a problem taking him from us.”
Arsenal think Mkhitaryan wants to come, Sanchez deal still on, biggest danger is Raiola pushing things too far, plenty of negotiating to be done. Arsenal still interested in Evans and Malcom. Don’t think Malcom happens if they get Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan https://t.co/PrDUKhLQ6V
