Wolves have confirmed the signing of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson on a season-long loan from Manchester United.

The defender signed a new long-term contract at Old Trafford earlier this summer as a reward for being named the club’s Under-21 player of the year following his breakthrough season.

After making his debut against West Brom in November, Borthwick-Jackson made a further 13 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.

But the arrival of Eric Bailly and return to fitness of Luke Shaw mean the 19-year-old would have found first-team chances hard to come by under Jose Mourinho this term, and he will now spend the campaign at Championship outfit Wolves.

The midlands club have also announced the signing of Benfica winger Ola John, also on a season-long loan.
