Brentford win battle of the Bees

The battle of the Bees at Griffin Park was settled by the home side’s Marcus Bean, who rose highest in the box to glance home Kevin O’Connor’s eighth-minute corner with his head.
But Brentford had to work hard to take the points and only resolute defending ensured they made it five straight wins on the trot.
Barnet’s Albert Adomah forced a full-length save from Brentford keeper Ben Hamer who kicked his curling drive on to the post.
The home side went close through leading scorer Charlie MacDonald and left-back Sam Wood who forced a great save from on-loan keeper Jake Cole.
Wood was on hand in the dying minutes to head a Paul Furlong header off the line as Barnet piled forward in search of the equaliser.
