Jonny Evans might be a target for Arsenal and Manchester City but neither of those clubs can call on Alan Pardew or John Carver.
West Brom assistant Carver was asked about the Baggies’ prospects of keeping hold of the Northern Irishman as he appeared on talkSPORT.
With Pep Guardiola making it clear that he wants defensive reinforcements, Evans is expected to be a wanted man once again.
“There are a few clubs that like him but we are hopeful because of how Alan works, how I work, that he will enjoy the work we do and we can keep hold of him,” he said.
“We don’t want our good players leaving the football club. We have come here to build something.
“Alan has come up and I have come here to try and build a group of players and improve the squad. It is a decent squad but we want to make it better over the next months and years.”
Jonny Evans may have put a few million on his transfer value during WBA's 0-0 draw at Liverpool tonight… Man City, Arsenal, Everton, Leicester & West Ham all keen on him…wonder if Jurgen Klopp might be interested now too…
