Chelsea boss Conte tight-lipped over Sanchez reports

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wouldn’t be drawn on rumours linking Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Sanchez has 18 months left on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium and rumours are circulating that he, along with Mesut Ozil, are some way from agreeing new contracts with the Gunners because of the duo’s high wage demands.

And just yesterday there were reports linking Sanchez with London rivals Chelsea but the Blues boss would not comment on a player from another team when asked about the speculation.

“I don’t think it is right to talk about other players and other teams,” Conte said at a press conference on Friday. “It is not right and we are totally focused on the next game, next season.

“January and next season are very far for us. It is important not to talk about other players because it is a lack of respect. We have four games before January. It’s important to be focused on this game.

“January is far away for me. Now I’m pleased, very glad, with this squad and to work with these players. For this reason, I repeat: stay concentrated on this game, go game by game, and then we’ll see.”
