John Terry will miss Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Liverpool on Friday night after the club confirmed he will be out for approximately ten days.

The former England international strained his ankle ligaments in his foot during the 2-2 draw with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

After the match Antonio Conte confirmed that the Blues captain would need to be assessed before they knew they extent of the injury.

“I don’t know the extent of the injury but tomorrow we will see the situation about his ankle. But he is a warrior. I am not worried,” said Conte.

And Terry, who limped to the team coach on crutches after the match, had taken to social media to post pictures of his swollen ankle.

However, after a scan on Monday, the good news was revealed on the club’s website that he will only miss ten days, which could see him return for the Blues’ Premier League clash with Arsenal on September 24.

David Luiz will be in line to replace the skipper after joining from Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day for £32million.
