Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is eager to return to Spain at some point in his career.

Courtois left his native Belgium for Chelsea upon signing from Genk in 2011.

But the goalkeeper subsequently spent three years on loan with Atletico Madrid, starting his family in the Spanish capital.

Courtois has established himself as Chelsea’s first-choice keeper and one of the finest in Europe since, but is looking to return to Spain in the future.

“Everybody knows that due to my personal situation, Spain attracts me. If it is not now, it will be in some years,” he told La Sexta.

The 25-year-old has a contract at Stamford Bridge until summer 2019, and is locked in negotiations with the club currently.

Real Madrid have long been linked with the keeper, as have Atletico.
