Chelsea star Tiemoue Bakayoko has escaped serious injury after crashing his car on his way home from training on Thursday.
The midfielder was heading home when he veered off the road on Blundel Lane near Blues’ Cobham training base, with police arriving at the scene at 4.40pm. No other vehicle was involved in the incident.
Bakayoko’s Mercedes Benz suffered a shattered windscreen shattered, while the roof also caved in.
The France interantional’s brother, Namory, recently suggested the 23-year-old is putting off driving in England.
He told the report in The Sun: “Tiemoue told me he wasn’t allowing himself to drive because he thinks it’s too crazy driving on the left! But he’ll get round to it.”
Police said in a statement: “Surrey Police attended Blundel Lane in Oxshot around 4.40pm today following a one vehicle collision. The driver did not suffer any injuries.”
Bakayoko, who joined Chelsea from Monaco for £40million in the summer transfer window, is said to be fine and is expected to feature in Saturday’s clash at Stoke.
