Newcastle have announced the departure of striker Papiss Cisse to Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng for an undisclosed fee believed to be £5m.
The 31-year-old, a Senegal international, scored 44 goals in 131 appearances for the Magpies since arriving from Freiburg in January 2012.
But having failed to help Newcastle retain their Barclays Premier League status under Rafael Benitez last season, his four-and-a-half-year spell on Tyneside has come to an end.
A Newcastle statement said: “Everyone at St. James’ Park wishes Papiss all the best for the next stage of his career.”
