The Senegal international has started on the bench for the Magpies’ last two games against Manchester United and Arsenal, with reports suggesting that Turkish club Galatasaray are interested in securing Cisse’s services.
Following Aleksandar Mitrovic’s sending off against the Gunners on Saturday, head coach Steve McClaren is expected to start the 30-year-old in the games against West Ham, Watford and Chelsea.
But with first-team chances limited due to the summer arrival of Mitrovic, Cisse’s agent Madou Diene has urged his client to consider leaving St James’ Park if a viable option emerges.
“If the right offer comes I will ask Papiss to consider it. Nobody wants to be at a club where you don’t feel wanted,” Diene told the Sunday Sun.
“There has been no offer from Galatasaray yet, it is only talk in the media. But there has been nothing concrete.
“Perhaps if there was it would be considered because at Papiss’ age he wants to play regular football. No matter which team he plays for he needs service because he will score goals,” he said of Cisse, who netted in the 2-2 draw with Southampton on August 9.
“During his time at Newcastle, he’s never had proper service which makes his goal tally even more remarkable.”
“As long as Papiss is here he will score goals. He can’t do that if he’s sitting on the bench.”
