City’s Aguero wants to play for Guardiola
Sergio Aguero has expressed his admiration for Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola and says he wants to be coached by the Spaniard.
Guardiola has often been linked with the manager’s role at Manchester City, and the former Barcelona boss’ contract in the German capital expires at the end of the season.
Current City manager Manuel Pellegrini signed a new two-year deal at the club in August, but is under pressure to deliver success this campaign after last year’s lackluster title defence.
“I would like to be coached by him in the future because he is a great coach, but today I’m so happy with Manuel Pellegrini,” said Aguero, who is likely to miss the next month after picking up a hamstring injury on international duty.
“It has been talked about a lot. I don’t know him, but he’s a great manager and it’s wonderful to have the best managers train you.
“I’m very good with Manuel Pellegrini, we talk a lot. I’m happy in the team and with him, but the club will be the one who chooses who comes in.”
