Long-time reported Manchester United target Bruma is hoping to earn a move to the Old Trafford club.

United have maintained an interest in Galatasaray winger Bruma since Jose Mourinho’s appointment as manager in the summer.

The two clubs faced each other in a pre-season friendly last July, after which Bruma stated that Mourinho was impressed with his performance.

“He congratulated me for the performance and said he was impressed with me,” he said after United’s 5-2 win.

“He promised to closely monitor my work and said I could play for the national team soon.”

The 22-year-old has since scored seven goals and provided a further six assists in Super Lig action. He has the highest WhoScored rating of any Turkish league player after 21 games. There is no higher accolade.

Speaking at the weekend, Galatasaray sporting director Levent Nazifoglu confirmed that Bruma would be open to any future interest, but implied that he must improve on his recent performances.

He said: “Bruma aims to play for Manchester United but if he wants this he must change certain things.”
