Antonio Conte has become the latest manager to pour praise on Manchester City, describing them as unstoppable.
If City take 21 points from their remaining ten league games, they will break Chelsea’s record points total in a Premier League season. On Thursday, they swept aside Arsenal in the first half before winding down after the break.
City have now scored 82 league goals, and Conte admits that stopping them is an incredibly difficult prospect.
“I think we must have a great admiration for this team,” Conte said.
“They are on a fantastic path this season. It’s very difficult to find a weakness in this team. I think that when you work very well, and there’s great feeling between the manager and the club, you can work the way you want.
“They have the possibility to spend a lot of money too, and when you link the two situations of a good manager, money to spend and the same ambition, this is the final result. They seem unstoppable.
“It’s very difficult. We have to try find them, if there are, and to try work on these weaknesses. It’s not simple. But we have to try and find the best way to face this game.”
“I think the most important thing in every game is to have a tactical plan offensively and defensively. It will be very important not to lose the balance.”
That sounds an awful lot easier said than done.
Conte speaks of his admiration for how Man City are playing this season and that it is difficult to find a weakness in their team. He adds that when you link a good manager with the ability to spend a lot of money, this is the result.
