Antonio Conte is ‘frustrated’ with the lack of signings at Chelsea this summer, according to reports.

Chelsea have signed just two players this summer – Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante – but both have arrived at Stamford Bridge for fees of over £30million.

Only one Premier League club have made fewer additions this summer, with Matty Phillips representing West Brom’s only signing thus far.

The club remain in dire need of reinforcements after finishing 10th last season, with Conte still keen to add at least one more defender to an ageing backline.

“I talk every day with the club,” the Italian said on Friday. “We have a plan, but we know the transfer market is very crazy. We must be patient to find the right solution.

“Every single club wants to improve because they want to fight for the title and every single club adapts their transfer policy in line with their own idea. Chelsea is waiting for the right solution.”

According to The Times however, the former Juventus boss is growing ‘frustrated’ at Chelsea’s inaction, while Manchesters City and United have spent well over £100m in their quest to win the title this season.

A move for Kalidou Kouliably is still expected, while the club’s pursuit of Romelu Lukaku is more likely to end in disappointment.
