Chelsea have no fresh injuries for Wednesday’s Champions League Group C clash at Qarabag in Azerbaijan.
Head coach Antonio Conte may rotate his options, given the lengthy journey to Baku plus the proximity of Saturday’s match at Liverpool, so David Luiz could return.
Striker Michy Batshuayi (ankle), forward Charly Musonda (knee) and right wing-back Victor Moses (hamstring) are absent alongside the left-sided Kenedy, who has a minor muscular issue.
Conte admits he is likely to rotate his squad but the Italian coach is happy with his options.
“For sure I have to make the best decision for these games, because we are playing every three days and it is normal to have rotation,” he said on Tuesday.
“I trust my players and am very sure for my choice. I trust all my players and it is normal to have rotation.
“For us the game against Qarabag is very important as we don’t want to wait to go through to the next round. When you wait or you arrive in this type of moment it could be more difficult for us.
“It is not difficult (to motivate the players). I have a squad with great maturity and they know very well the importance of the game.”
