Conte’s Chelsea > Mourinho’s title winners – Hazard

Eden Hazard believes that the current Chelsea side under Antonio Conte is better than the one that marched to the Premier League title in 2015.

The Blues are nine points clear at the top of the league following their comfortable 3-1 victory over title rivals Arsenal.

Hazard, who has scored ten goals already this season, reckons that they are a stronger outfit under Conte than they were during Jose Mourinho’s last spell at Stamford Bridge.

“I think we are in better form, as a team,” Hazard said. “Not just me. Two years ago I was on fire, you know. But maybe I can score more goals this season. I already have 10.

“Two years ago I finished with 14 [in the Premier League]. We have a lot of games to play still, so we will see.”

Hazard won the FWA Footballer of the Year two years ago but he thinks he is playing even better now than in the 2014-15 campaign.

“With the head, with experience, you improve,” Hazard said. “I think I am a better player, more complete, than I was.

“Sometimes in the past, for 20 or 30 minutes, I’ve not touched the ball in some games. These days I try and get on the ball, try and have lots of touches, and play my football for 90 minutes.”
