Coutinho: ‘I’m happy with Klopp and Liverpool’

Philippe Coutinho has reiterated that he is happy at Liverpool and does not wish to leave the club.

There have been recent reports of Barcelona interest in Coutinho, although the likelihood of Barca spending £40m on a back-up midfielder is unlikely. They already have Arda Turan for that.

Liverpool have repeatedly insisted that Coutinho is not for sale, and the Brazilian has now responded in kind, saying that he does not want to leave.

“I am grateful for everything Liverpool has done for me,” Coutinho said.

“Am I happy there working under Klopp? It’s clear, he’s great.”

Liverpool were give more good Coutinho news after Brazil were knocked out of the Copa America group stage by Peru on Sunday night.

That means that Coutinho can now take a full part in the club’s preseason, rather than arriving late following the end of the tournament.

Last week, Matt Stead wrote that Liverpool should at least consider cashing in on their most valuable asset, as long as silly money was offered. It’s looks like that suggestion will not be heeded. Nobody every bloody listens to him.
