Liverpool have identified and signed a replacement for Philippe Coutinho in the form of Scottish 18-year-old left-back Tony Gallacher.
Gallacher, who obviously isn’t Coutinho’s replacement so please do calm down, spent a week on trial with Liverpool’s academy earlier this month.
Liverpool have parted with £200,000 to bring him in from Falkirk, and he will link up with the club’s Under-23 squad.
Manchester United and Stoke had been linked with moves for Gallacher in the past.
He made his senior debut for Falkirk aged 16, starting in a Scottish Cup tie in November 2015.
He started his first league match in December 2016, has nine international caps at Scotland’s youth levels, and will hope to follow in the footsteps of fellow Scottish bloke, Andrew Robertson, at Anfield.
