Craig fires Hibs to first win

The under-fire manager was publicly backed by Rod Petrie in midweek, and a first win since May duly followed at Easter Road as Liam Craig’s second-half double answered Barry Nicholson’s birthday strike.
As for Kilmarnock, failure to capitalise on a half-time lead means Allan Johnston’s side are now one of two in the Scottish Premiership still to record a victory.
That outcome appeared unlikely as Killie made the brighter start – Darren Barr heading over the top – and capped it with a goal on 23 minutes.
Nicholson, celebrating his 35th birthday, thumped in Mark Stewart’s knock-down in eye-catching fashion from the edge of the box.
But Paul Heffernan fluffed a chance to double the lead from close range and Hibs were a different proposition after the break, levelling 90 seconds into the second half.
Rowan Vine provided the cross, and Craig lost marker Barr to head beyond Craig Samson.
Stewart denied Ben Williams as Killie came again, but the winner came at the other end, Craig nipping past a static Barr to lob Samson as the keeper dithered (80).
And Killie’s fate was sealed when Chris Johnston missed a chance to level as the clock ran down.
