Dawson: It’s a dream to be back in Premier League

Michael Dawson says it’s a dream for Hull City to be back in the Premier League after just one season away.

The Tigers were relegated in 2015 but managed to bounce back at the first attempt, thanks to a 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship play-off final last month.

Now Dawson is looking forward to next season in the top flight and can’t wait to get back to playing in the big stadiums.

“I’ve always said that, in my opinion, the Premier League is the best league in the world,” Dawson told the club’s official website.

“It’s a dream to be back in there, especially when just 12 months ago we were shattered to be leaving it.

“From a personal point of view and from a club point of view, for Hull City to be going back to places like Old Trafford, White Hart Lane, Stamford Bridge…..the list goes on – they’re the grounds you dream of playing at and it doesn’t get any better.

“We’ll look forward to all of that now. Of course we’ll be going into it as the underdogs and we know that we have to go and perform at these places, but that is where you want to be testing yourself – against the best players in the world.

“When we were relegated 12 months ago it was the worst day of my career. Thankfully, one year on, we’re back where I feel this club deserves to be.”
