Kevin de Bruyne can’t wait to link up with new Manchester City signing Leroy Sane this season and is hoping to provide him with the ammunition he needs to score goals.
Sane joined City just over a week ago from Schalke for £37million after scoring eight goals in 33 league appearances last term as the German club finished fifth in the Bundesliga.
De Bruyne, who signed for the Citizens last summer from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, thinks he can link up well with Sane this campaign and in turn bring success to the Etihad Stadium.
“Leroy Sane is a class player. I want him to shine with my assists,” De Bruyne told Sport Bild. “My aim is the title. To reach this it’s important we have new players like Sane or Gundogan.”
The Belgium international thinks neighbours Manchester United will provide tough competition this campaign with a host of fresh faces set to be on show.
“Manchester United is strong again with Pogba and Ibrahimovic,” he said.
“Players like these help the league. But I think Chelsea and Arsenal will be strong, too.”
