De Gea wants United to “fight” for the quadruple

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea thinks the club “need to fight” for every trophy this season.

The Red Devils have an outside chance of lifting the Premier League title, while they are in the last-32 of the Europa League and in both domestic cup competitions.

De Gea will be disappointed to have only won one Premier League title and an FA Cup since he moved to the club in 2011 and he seems to determined to grab more silverware.

“We are in the four competitions and we need to fight for everything,” De Gea exclusively told Sky Sports News HQ.

“We are Manchester United. We are close to the (EFL Cup) final at Wembley and we need to start (preparing for that) on Saturday against Stoke.

“We want to keep winning. We are in a good run and we need to stay at the same level, try to win many games and then we can see where we finish in the league.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s late header cancelled out a James Milner penalty in a 1-1 draw with arch-rivals Liverpool last weekend and De Gea is hoping they can bounce back against Stoke on Saturday.

“We were a bit disappointed with this game because we wanted to win,” the 26-year-old added.

“We were playing at home in front of our fans and I think we deserved to win. We created a lot of chances, more than them, so we were a bit disappointed.

“Stoke is a tough game and a tough place to go. It’s windy, it’s a war and it’s always difficult. But we need to go there with confidence and try to play our best football and win.”
