Dele Alli is set for a bumper new contract at Tottenham after impressing this season.
Alli is still on a deal worth £10,000 per week, the one he signed when joining from MK Dons.
The expectation was that the midfielder would take time to settle in the Premier League, but his progress has been beyond anyone’s expectation. Alli already has four senior caps for England, and scored against France in November.
With a call-up for Euro 2016 certain if he maintains his current form, Tottenham will reportedly offer the 19-year-old a weekly wage of around £20,000 per week in order to reward him for his efforts.
The mad thing is that such a salary – equivalent to £1m a year – doesn’t even seem that high.
