Doncaster v Bristol C preview

Doncaster boss Sean O’Driscoll will assess the fitness of several players ahead of the home clash.
Brian Stock, Shelton Martis, Mark Wilson and James O’Connor have been nursing injuries in the opening weeks of the season but were all named on the bench for Tuesday’s 2-1 home defeat to Leeds in the Carling Cup second round.
Striker James Hayter, who has also been troubled by injury, was fit enough to start the game and got on the scoresheet.
However, the likes of Billy Sharp, Ryan Mason, James Chambers, Martin Woods and Adam Lockwood all continue to miss out.
On-loan duo Reece Brown and Milan Lalkovic – on loan from Manchester United and Chelsea respectively – come back into contention after not being eligible in midweek.
Former England goalkeeper David James is on standby for Bristol City if a groin injury keeps Dean Gerken out of the trip.
Gerken has been selected ahead of James for the past three games but was withdrawn at half-time with a groin strain when the Robins crashed out of the Carling Cup at the hands of Swindon.
Manager Keith Millen insists James would be a worthy replacement, despite conceding six goals in the first two games, telling the club’s official website: “Dean is getting the problem assessed. Like I’ve always said, I’ve got two quality goalkeepers.”
Nicky Maynard and Marvin Elliott will return to the starting-line up after being rested in the week.
Louis Carey made the bench and could start after fully recovering from illness.
