Dons cruise past 10-man County

Clinton Morrison scored one and set up another as MK Dons eased past 10-man Notts County 3-0 to climb up to second in League One.
An exquisite first-half finish from Angelo Balanta plus late goals from Morrison and substitute Daniel Powell handed the Dons their first win in five league games after Magpies defender Julian Kelly had seen red early on.
County faced an uphill task from the start as Kelly was shown a straight red card in only the fourth minute for handling Dean Bowditch’s shot on the goalline.
Williams’ penalty was well saved by Stuart Nelson but Balanta put the Dons ahead just five minutes later, playing a neat one-two with Morrison before expertly dinking the ball over the onrushing keeper.
Nelson then saved Williams’ low 25-yard drive at full stretch before Gary MacKenzie and Balanta missed further chances for the rampant hosts before half-time.
County rallied after the break and Lee Hughes had a fierce angled drive tipped wide by David Martin. But two late goals wrapped up the win for the Dons as Morrison tapped in Bowditch’s low cross and then Powell scored a fine solo goal.
