Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan for the remainder of the season, the clubs have announced.
With Chelsea signing Olivier Giroud from Arsenal, Batshuayi has completed his loan move to Dortmund as expected.
The striker has failed to establish himself under Antonio Conte in his 18 months at Stamford Bridge, despite scoring the goal that sealed the club’s Premier League title win last season.
He has scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 26 appearances this campaign, only 12 of which have been starts.
While Premier League sides are working towards a deadline of 11pm on Wednesday evening to complete transfers, the deadline for clubs in the Bundesliga was 5pm.
Dortmund confirmed the deal had been completed for Batshuayi as 4.48pm, and the Belgian could make his debut away at FC Koln on Friday.
