Douglas deal for Ipswich

The 33-year-old Irishman has penned a one-year deal with the option of a further 12 months and joins Larsen Toure and Giles Coke in arriving at Portman Road this week.
Douglas was told he was surplus to requirements by new Bees head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen, who said publicly there was “no future” for Douglas at the club.
After helping the London club clinch promotion from Sky Bet League 1 in 2013-14, he skippered them to the Championship play-off semi-finals last season before seeing their Premier League hopes ended by Middlesbrough over two legs.
He could now line up against his former club when the teams meet on the opening day of the new season at Griffin Park on Saturday.
