Ronald de Boer claims Memphis Depay has the “exceptional qualities” to succeed at Manchester United; we must be patient.
Depay – who could be in line to return to the United starting line-up in the absence of Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney – has not featured in the Premier League since being hauled off at half-time of the 3-0 drubbing by Arsenal in October.
His attitude has been publicly questioned by Netherlands boss Danny Blind, but Ajax coach De Boer is sure the youngster will come good.
“It is always difficult to come to a bigger team but it is also a different country, a different league, higher expectations and the boy is just 21 years old,” De Boer told talkSPORT.
“You need time to adjust. It takes time. We have to be patient because I still believe he has the exceptional qualities to make it for Man United.”
