Everton are expected to announce the signing of Swansea captain Ashley Williams for £10m later this week.
Williams – who has played for the Swans for over eight years – is said to be ready for a new challenge as he turns 32 later this summer.
He could be followed to Goodison Park by Sunderland defender Lamine Kone, who could cost £20m just a few months after he joined the Black Cats for £6m.
With John Stones set to join Manchester City and Phil Jagielka about to turn 34, new Saints boss Ronald Koeman was keen to build a brand-new defence.
According to the Daily Mail, Swansea have earmarked Anderlecht’s Kara Mbodji as a possible replacement.
181 – Since his debut, Ashley Williams has played more PL games (181) and made more interceptions (473) than any other player. Reliable.
