Fans try to buy Le Fondre

The 28-year-old is currently at Cardiff but his time in Wales has not been a huge success so far and he was sent on loan to Bolton last term.

However, he proved far more prolific once he was with the Trotters, scoring eight times in 16 starts.

Bolton boss Neil Lennon has said that, while a permanent deal for Le Fondre would be very welcome, “we don’t want to go down the road of throwing millions at it”.

And Wales Online are now reporting that Bolton fans are hoping to raise £500,000 to help the club fund a purchase.

Sam James is the man behind the ‘Bring Adam Le Fondre Home’ fund and he told supporters’ blog ‘The Lion of Vienna Suite’: “I am getting frustrated with the lack of funds available at Bolton at the moment, as are the rest of our fans.
“I thought it was an idea to give our fans the opportunity to make our own signing!”
Le Fondre seems to be backing the campaign and re-tweeted a message from a fan who was making a donation.
Mr James says he will donate all the money raised to charity if the target amount is not reached.
