More international injury woe for Man Utd
Marouane Fellaini and Thibaut Courtois have been ruled out of Belgium’s clash with Russia this week and have emerged as doubts for their Premier League matches this weekend.
The Man Utd midfielder will miss Tuesday’s friendly with Russia in Sochi due to a toe complaint, while Chelsea stopper Courtois is suffering from a hip problem.
Fellaini’s injury is a further blow for Jose Mourinho, who has already seen centre-backs Chris Smalling and Phil Jones return crocked from international duty.
Ahead of the weekend’s meeting with West Brom, United are already short in midfield, with Paul Pogba struggling with a hamstring injury and Ander Herrera suspended.
Courtois joins Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard on the sidelines, with the playmaker also a doubt for the leaders’ clash with Crystal Palace due to a calf complaint.
