Ferdinand slams Arsenal players for celebrations

Rio Ferdinand has blasted Arsenal’s players for celebrating their victory over Chelsea.

Arsenal cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over their bitter rivals on Saturday, bringing to an end a consecutive run of nine games without victory in this fixture.

The Gunners were as excellent as Chelsea were poor, and some players posted pictures on social media after the game in celebration.

Mesut Ozil posted an image on Instagram of he and three of his teammates, Shkodran Mustafi, Granit Xhaka and Lucas Perez, in the dressing room after the clash.

But former Manchester United defender Ferdinand berated them for their actions.

“Unless you’re winning, that gives everyone else ammunition,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.

“You don’t even have to have a team talk. I’d put that [the picture] up in the changing room next time I play Arsenal.

“I know for a fact there will be players around the country going ‘do you see them lot, they’ve only won one game’.

“I’d shut that down [if I were a manager].”
