Ferguson and Wenger hated each other? ‘Rubbish’

Daniel Storey

Arsene Wenger’s brother says that the idea that the Arsenal manager and Alex Ferguson hated each other is “rubbish”.

Guy Wenger has rarely spoken of his brother’s career at Arsenal, but agreed to be interviewed by the Daily Telegraph’s Jeremy Wilson.

Wenger spoke about the pair’s childhood and footballing education, but also passed comment on Arsene’s relationship with Ferguson.

The widely-held belief is that Fergie and Wenger did not get on, but Guy rejected that notion.

“People thought he and [Sir Alex] Ferguson hated each other,” he told The Telegraph .

“Rubbish. I was with them.

“I think it was the last time Ferguson was at Arsenal with Manchester United.

“We drank two bottles of Bordeaux after the game.”
