Philippe Coutinho will only move to Barcelona in January if Jurgen Klopp agrees the sale, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Barcelona are yet to make a fresh move for the Brazilian but the consensus in both English and Spanish media is that Liverpool are willing to sell for around £133m.
Coutinho is said to be prepared to ‘do anything’ to force a move to La Liga and apparently believes he has played his last game for the Reds.
A thigh injury kept him out of Monday’s 2-1 win over Burnley and the same ‘minor’ problem keeps him out of Friday night’s FA Cup clash with Everton.
Reports in Spain say that the deal is now very, very close and that Barcelona officials are in England to negotiate a deal.
This latest report from the Telegraph reiterates that Coutinho wants to leave but says: ‘There is not the slightest possibility owners Fenway Sports Group would sanction the sale of Coutinho without taking instruction from their manager. That was the situation in the summer and nothing has changed.
‘While Liverpool’s position on Coutinho’s short-term future has certainly shifted, that is in deference to the mood of the manager.’
