Firmino release fee, ‘anti-Arsenal’ clause revealed
Roberto Firmino has a release clause of £83million at Liverpool, according to investigative outlet Football Leaks.
Firmino joined the Reds in summer 2015, and has become an integral member of the first-team squad.
The Brazilian moved from Hoffenheim for an initial £22m, and he has scored 15 goals in 44 Premier League appearances.
His form could attract suitors throughout Europe, but it is now believed that it would take a mammoth bid to even start negotiations over his Anfield exit.
Football Leaks, a controversial whistleblowing website, who have previously published stories regarding Jose Mourinho’s alleged tax avoidance and the real cost of Manchester United forward Memphis Depay, claim to have Firmino’s contract details in their possession.
They have published said information, as well as the contract details of numerous other players, in conjunction with Belgian publication Le Soir.
The newspaper writes, in their section on Firmino:
‘Arsenal cannot buy him for [£83million]. Nor for any higher amount, moreover,’
