Fowler: Liverpool must ‘score more goals than they let in’

Matt Stead

Robbie Fowler has offered some sage advice to Liverpool, who he believes have one of the best forward lines in football.

The Reds have added Mohamed Salah to an already fearsome attack, and have impressed thus far in an unbeaten pre-season.

They dismantled Bayern Munich on Tuesday, beating them 3-0, and former striker Fowler was full of praise.

“I think this Liverpool front four are as good as anyone in Europe at the minute,” Fowler told ITV.

“Firmino, his touch and movement is very good. Courtinho, I think we’ve spoken about many, many times over the last few years about just how good he is.

“Mane’s pace and his trickery is superb but the one I’ve been impressed with this pre-season is Salah.

“You know, he’s come to Liverpool and he just glides across the pitch – he’s so quick. Everything is effortless with him. He’s looked really good in pre-season so fingers crossed it’s a good night for him and a good start to the season.”

Later in the show, Fowler would add: “I think with Liverpool, sometmes they’ve got to score more goals than what they let in.”

Wonderful.
