Liverpool have made a bid for Lorient left-back Raphael Guerreiro, according to the club’s vice-president.

The Reds are thought to be keen to sign a left-back, with Spaniard Alberto Moreno having struggled in the position this season.

Guerreiro has appeared on their radar after impressing for Lorient in France this season, with Arsenal also thought to be interested in the 22-year-old.

The Portuguese can also play on the left wing, and Lorient vice-president has confirmed that the versatile star is in demand.

“For now four major foreign clubs, including [Borussia] Dortmund and Liverpool have made an offer,” Alex Hayes said.

Guerreiro’s form has seen him confirmed in Portugal’s provisional squad for Euro 2016, and the defender has made over 100 Ligue Un appearances for Lorient since joining the club in 2013.

Liverpool will face competition not only from Arsenal and Dortmund for his signature, but also from Paris Saint-Germain.
