Ramiro Funes Mori has admitted he is homesick and already contemplating leaving Everton to return to River Plate in the near future.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun the 24-year-old says he is missing life in his native Argentina after his £9.5million summer move.
Funes Mori has played eight times in the Premier League, scoring once and is starting to settle into life in the Premier League after a difficult start, but he has admitted he is missing his old club.
“Now I realise what I had in River for many years.
“I won’t lie about it – I miss River and being with my former team-mates. It was so nice, I miss it so much.
“Sometimes I even ask myself whether it was the right moment to leave just before playing the Club World Cup in Japan.
“Of course it will happen in the future but I’m already thinking about moving back to River.”
Funes Mori, though, has been lifted by his improving form and the rapport with the Everton fans.
He added: “The fans have been singing my name, you know. I didn’t expect it because I have just joined.”
