Georgia v Poland preview

Adam Nawalka’s side sit top of the group going into the clash at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi, courtesy of their slightly superior goal difference compared to Republic of Ireland.
Poland began their campaign with a 7-0 rout of Gibraltar in the Algarve in Portugal – a match which saw Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski net four goals.
They then stunned Germany with a 2-0 victory in Warsaw last month before fighting back to hold Scotland to a 2-2 draw at the same venue.
Nawalka told reporters: “We are going to Georgia full of optimism, but this is going to be a very difficult match.
“Georgia lost to Ireland with a last-minute goal and then only narrowly lost in Scotland. So they have already shown they are a good team.
“They also have a lot of players with high levels of technical skills. We have been encouraged by our win over Germany and the draw with Scotland wasn’t a bad result.
“But we know that we have to work hard because if were to lose, we would undo all our previous good work.”
Georgia opened their campaign with a 2-1 home defeat by the Republic of Ireland and then lost 1-0 to Scotland at Ibrox.
Temuri Ketsbaia’s side picked up their first points in the group when they beat Gibraltar 3-0 in Faro last month, leaving them in fifth place after three games.
The Poland squad contains three British-based players – the goalkeeping trio of Wojciech Szczesny (Arsenal), Lukasz Fabianski (Swansea) and Artur Boruc (on loan at Bournemouth from Southampton).
