Giggs discusses his future and United’s Pogba deal
Ryan Giggs says he has had “a few offers” to return to coaching, but he is enjoying his current sabbatical.
Giggs ended his 29-year association with Manchester United earlier this summer, with new manager Jose Mourinho installing his own backroom staff.
The Welshman was reportedly ‘angered‘ by the situation with Mourinho, as he had hoped to move from his role as assistant manager to succeed former boss Louis van Gaal upon the end of the Dutchman’s tenure.
But the 42-year-old left the club after being offered a different coaching role at Old Trafford, and he is now enjoying playing in a Futsal league in India.
“I’m just enjoying myself at the moment,” he told Sport Witness in an exclusive. “I did a bit of media work at the Euros, and obviously I’m here to do the Futsal. At the moment, I’m just relaxing.
“I had a few offers here and there, but nothing concrete.”
Paul Pogba is expected to become United’s fourth signing of the summer soon, with the club having agreed a world-record fee for the Frenchman.
Asked on the rumours surrounding the 23-year-old, Giggs added: “I haven’t got a clue (whether he’s arriving). I read as much as you do. I can’t give inside info. But yes, he is a good player.”
