Olivier Giroud believes that Arsenal are their own worst enemies in the Premier League title race.
Arsene Wenger and various Arsenal players have regularly boasted about the club’s mental strength, but Giroud alludes to the club’s tendency to shoot themselves in the feet.
Arsenal are currently level on points with Tottenham, but two points behind Leicester at the top of the table.
“I believe our main rival is us, even if you might think that that answer is corny or stupid,” Giroud told L’Equipe.
“[Leicester] only have the league left to play. They are superbly moulded and have a certain unconcerned attitude.”
It doesn’t either “corny” or “stupid”, Olly. It sounds 100% accurate, to us. The focus will now be on how Arsenal cope with another last-16 Champions League exit.
8 games without a goal for Olivier Giroud. Last goal against Liverpool on the 13th of January.
