West Ham co-chairman David Gold insists the club will not be forced to spend in January due to a rising injury list, as they have Andy Carroll in their ranks.
With Dimitri Payet, Victor Moses, Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia all sidelined through injury for the Hammers, Manuel Lanzini added to their attacking problems after being ruled out for six weeks with a thigh problem.
Slaven Bilic’s side had been expected to strengthen and bring in reinforcements in January, but club chief Gold has pointed to their other available options, including “£35million striker” Carroll.
Gold told the 2015 Business Show: “We have still got a £35m striker in Andy Carroll. We have also got Nikica Jelavic.
“We have a supporting striker in Mauro Zarate. There’s attacking options.
“Even with our injuries we have quality international players to cope.”
