Gossip: Could Gylfi be the Hammers’ new Payet?

SIGURDSSSON FOR HAMMERS?
It certainly makes sense. Gylfi Sigurdsson is one of the best players in the lower reaches of the Premier League and would make a decent replacement for Dimitri Payet. But will Swansea sell their best player for £20m in the middle of a relegation fight? You would certainly hope not.

The Daily Express then goes on to suggest that the Hammers may also make a permanent offer for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi to the turn of £20m. But this might not be the best time to be ringing Chelsea and asking for one of their strikers…

DIEGO COSTA: THE OFFER
Just to clarify what we have touched on elsewhere: Diego Costa is said to be the subject of £80m interest from Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian, who are prepared to pay him £30m a year, which translates to £576,000 a week. Wow.

According to the Daily Express, ‘Roman Abramovich is understood to be adamant that he does not want to sell Costa, Chelsea’s top scorer with 14 goals this season.’ You cannot imagine that he would be over-chuffed at the idea of being out-spent by China. Emasculated much, Roman?

GASTON TO LEICESTER, BOJAN TO BORO
Apparently there’s a £15m release clause in Gaston Ramirez’s Middlesbrough contract and Leicester are ready to trigger that clause with a bid this week. And if Ramirez expresses an interest in going – and playing in the Champions League – then Boro will be powerless.

But they do have a plan and that plan is a £6m move for Stoke’s Bojan, who is reportedly growing increasingly frustrated and not getting regular football even though the Potters are, well, a bit sh*t really.

AND THE REST
Manchester United will trigger a one-year extension in the contract of David De Gea…Hull would consider selling Robert Snodgrass for £10m…Watford manager Water Mazzarri’s job is under threat…there is a delay in Everton signing Algerian striker Ishak Belfodil.
